Thirty one-hour lessons for one set text, in the text’s own order. Each lesson is one card: retrieval, passage, the activity in timed steps, the writing and the check, with an exam-focus line per board. A knowledge organiser and a diagnostic per unit, then weak, middling and strong answers for each board’s own mark scheme.

The boards reward different things. Edexcel gives no marks for language analysis on Blood Brothers, Eduqas none for context. The pack says so at every exam line.

One topic, one landscape page, led by its images.

For subject teachers and heads of department

The sheet that sits on the desk while the work is happening. It is landscape, so it lies open beside an exercise book, and it carries one topic to a page rather than one page to a unit. It is led by its images instead of its headings. Where a sourced archival photograph exists, the sheet uses it: the stretcher party in the mud at Boesinghe, Marie Curie at the wheel of her X-ray car, the Greenland melt ponds from orbit. Where none does, as in mathematics, a figure is drawn for the page. Each one carries the knowledge a top-band answer turns on, the vocabulary, and the misconceptions that cost marks.

Not a knowledge organiser turned on its side. An organiser is portrait, sold by key stage, and revised from after the teaching. A knowledge mat is one landscape page on one topic, led by its images, and meant to be on the table during it.

For A level students, and the teachers who set their revision

Built on the DfE’s A level subject content, which every exam board’s specification has to follow, so a guide holds whichever board a student is sitting. The core ideas sit beside a figure, with worked examples, the misconceptions that cost marks, and questions to test yourself on. One guide covers a subject, part by part, so a student can revise the course from a single document instead of a stack of them.

Written for A level students revising on their own, and for the teachers who set that revision. Wording from the DfE and Ofqual is quoted exactly; everything a board decides for itself is left to its specification.

Sixty minutes, timed to the minute. Each session is two files: the slide deck the room watches, and the facilitator pack the person at the front holds. That pack is the run sheet, the handout, the cards staff work from, an evaluation slip and the three-week follow-up. Nothing to make.

Works from eight staff to a hundred and twenty. Roughly a third of every hour is spent rehearsing out loud, which is the part that annual training never has room for.
